I've tried to connect an external USB DVD to the Cube without success. ¿Why bother? Well, I have an USB DVD recorder that I don't use too much, and my TV has few external inputs, so if I can connect it I can get rid of my old DVD player, that does not read DivX movies. In additon, if it would be possible to burn movies directly from the Cube, it would become an almost complete Media Center.
As far as I can see with dmesg, the kernel recognizes it on connection:
usb 1-1.2: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
scsi1 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
usb-storage: device found at 4
usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
Vendor: HL-DT-ST Model: DVDRAM GSA-4163B Rev: A103
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 00
usb-storage: device scan complete
But no entry is created in /dev/scsi or /dev/usb. Also, in /proc/filesystems, there is not mention of iso9660.
Can someone with more Linux knowledge than me (almost everyone) tell me what would be needed to make it work? Thanks and excuse my english
